3rd Generation is not just slogan for me:
My grandfather Fred Schocke, grew up helping his mother and father run a dairy farm near Almont, Michigan, during the early 1920’s. As a young man he began to feel the pull to become a builder. He purchased a small town lot with a barn on it, pulled the barn down and used the lumber to build his first house. Fred Schocke Construction was born! He went on to build hundreds of homes, develop subdivisions that forever changed the landscape of the small towns he grew up in.
My dad, Ron Schocke, Fred’s only son grew up building houses with his dad. They mastered the building trade from the ground up. But, as a young man, my dad began to have a different vision for his life. He attended a university for five years, graduated with an Engineering degree that ushered him into the industrial complex and thought the road ahead looked pretty promising. After many successful years, he moved to Texas, and decided to return to his roots. Ron Schocke Construction was born! He built homes and did remodeling for over 30 years in the Dallas area. This is where we worked together and I learned everything that was passed down from my grandfather. Everything from the importance of quality over quantity, to honesty and the satisfaction of helping someone’s dreams become a reality.
Finally “The proof is in the pudding” as the saying goes. Every house that my grandfather Fred ever built is still being lived in and enjoyed today by families in the Almont, Michigan area. My parents live in the large home that my dad, my brother and I built at the turn of this century. I am living in the latest house I just completed. Building quality, long-lasting family homes is in the blood!
